  • Experience in community banking, ideally with ties to Dane County or south-central Wisconsin.
  • A genuine relationship-builder who shows up, follows through, and earns trust.
  • Comfortable in front of business owners from small shops to manufacturers with 100 employees.
  • Nice to have: credit background or underwriting experience; a faster path to a larger portfolio.
  • Self-starter who can manage a pipeline and prioritize without a lot of hand-holding.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage relationships with local business owners, from small businesses to established middle-market companies.
  • Originate commercial loans — C&I, CRE, lines of credit, SBA, and more.

Job description

We're looking for a Commercial Banker to join our team and help local businesses grow. This is a relationship-first role — you'll be the face of the bank for business owners across Dane County, helping them with lending, deposit, and treasury needs while building the kind of trust that keeps them banking with us for decades.

We're open to bankers at any career stage. If you know community banking and you care about your clients, we want to talk to you.

What You'll Do
  • Develop and manage relationships with local business owners, from small businesses to established middle-market companies
  • Originate commercial loans — C&I, CRE, lines of credit, SBA, and more
  • Cross-sell deposit accounts, treasury management, and other bank services
  • Represent the bank in the community — local events, chambers of commerce, civic involvement
  • Work closely with credit and operations teams to structure deals that make sense for the client and the bank
  • Manage and grow an existing loan portfolio (a book of business is available to inherit for the right candidate)
  • Stay on top of your local market — who's expanding, who's hiring, who needs a better banking relationship
What We're Looking For
  • Experience in community banking, ideally with ties to Dane County or south-central Wisconsin
  • A genuine relationship-builder — someone who shows up, follows through, and earns trust
  • Comfortable in front of business owners, from a coffee shop down the street to a manufacturer with 100 employees
  • Nice to have: credit background or underwriting experience — this is a real plus and could mean a faster path to a larger portfolio
  • Self-starter who can manage a pipeline and prioritize without a lot of hand-holding
Why Join Us
  • We're a community bank — decisions get made locally, not by a committee three states away
  • A portfolio may be available to inherit, giving you a running start instead of building entirely from scratch
  • Real autonomy paired with real support from credit, ops, and leadership
  • The chance to actually make a difference in the community you live and work in
