Job summary

EMI Services, a TechFlow subsidiary, seeks a skilled refrigeration technician to install, maintain, and repair commercial/industrial systems at Fort Jackson, SC. You’ll diagnose issues from compressors to condensers, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

Salary is $36.60/hr with a fringe benefit allowance toward insurance and 401(k). EMI offers PTO, ESOP, health plan, a company vehicle for local duties, and generous benefits under the Service Contract Act.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in commercial appliances, food refrigeration systems, and building maintenance.
• EPA Type I and II certifications required.
• U.S. citizenship to access military installations; valid driver's license or ability to obtain REAL ID.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair refrigeration systems and components (walk-in coolers, commercial refrigerators, dishwashing machines, disposals, pulpers).
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and implement effective solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth facility operations.

EMI Services is in search of a skilled refrigeration technician to install, maintain, and repair commercial/industrial refrigeration systems and appliances, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely. Key responsibilities involve diagnosing issues by inspecting and troubleshooting components such as compressors and condensers, conducting routine preventative maintenance, replacing defective parts, and performing system leak checks. This position demands strong technical abilities in interpreting schematics, a solid understanding of mechanical and electrical faults, as well as knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.

Salary

Key Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair refrigeration systems and components

• Schedule and prioritize maintenance and repair tasks

• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure facility operations run smoothly
• Performs other related duties, as assigned

Essential Skills

• Use hand tools, test equipment and follow wiring diagrams and manufacturer's specifications
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and best practices
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently
• Proficiency in using maintenance management systems and Microsoft Office

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years experience in commercial appliances, food refrigeration systems, and building maintenance
• EPA type I and type II
• Valid driver's license compliant with REAL ID Act or willing and able to obtain one
• Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
• U.S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted
• Use of hands, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and walking
