Job summary

Howden US Services LLC is seeking a strategic Commercial Analytics Lead to own the roadmap and delivery of client-facing analytics products within its US Data team. You’ll partner with industry-leading brokers, claims, and actuarial talent to shape Howden’s analytics strategy and deliver value for clients.

  • Demonstrated leadership of complex cross‑functional initiatives; people leadership experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify client risk modelling needs and define clear product outcomes, in collaboration with leaders in casualty, property, financial lines, employee benefits, personal lines, and claims.
  • Bring together internal and external data, 3rd party statistical models, and vibe-coded prototypes into a governed, scalable, and branded analytics platform; identify and evaluate new opportunities to leverage AI to enhance capabilities deliver analytics more efficiently.
  • Coordinate with Global and US teams to define today’s tools, data sources, third-party relationships, and costs associated with delivering analytics to clients, driving reuse of existing capabilities and aligning standards to avoid duplicative investment.
  • Build consensus around build versus buy strategy, external partnerships, and defining core analytics capabilities.
  • Coordinate with Global and US teams to reuse existing Howden capabilities, align standards, and avoid duplicative investment.
  • Define product requirements for client data intake, data quality, model execution, explainability, visualization, and a cohesive client experience.
  • Define and monitor measures of product success, including usage, delivery time, client and broker feedback, commercial impact, delivery efficiency, and cost savings.

What is the role?

We are seeking a strategic and entrepreneurial Commercial Analytics Lead to own the roadmap and delivery of client-facing analytics products. As an early member of the Howden US Data team, you will have the opportunity to work with industry-leading broking, claims, and actuarial talent to shape Howden’s analytics strategy. The ideal candidate will bring strong product management skills, substantial insurance knowledge, a passion for tinkering with AI, and broad technical fluency that enables effective work with engineers, data scientists, actuaries, model providers, and business leaders. You will manage product backlogs, define priorities, and work closely with engineering, business, and analytics teams to translate requirements into functional outcomes. You are entrepreneurial and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where you will chart your own path.

  • Ability to translate complex analytical, actuarial, and risk-modelling methods into intuitive and repeatable products for brokers and clients.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior business leaders and align cross‑functional specialists around a shared vision.
  • Technical fluency in modern data platforms, APIs, analytics workflows, visualization, statistics, data science, and AI concepts.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and non‑technical teams.
  • Strong analytical and commercial judgment, including the ability to develop business cases, evaluate trade-offs, and make evidence‑based investment decisions.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort with ambiguity.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected base salary range for this role is $160,000 - $190,000; actual base salary will be determined based on factors including candidate experience and work location. This role is classified as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). In addition to a competitive base salary, employees are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus. Howden also offers a variety of benefits and programs, subject to eligibility, including:
