Job summary

Bodycote is seeking a NA Commercial Analyst to prepare commercial analytics, pricing data, costing data, and quotations for the division’s plants. You will partner with sales, customer service, operations and legal to develop accurate quotes and draft NDAs, LTAs, and other contracts.

You will perform margin, capacity, and quote turnaround analytics, supporting the Commercial team to optimize pricing strategies and reporting.

Qualifications

  • This position requires ITAR compliance; candidates must be U.S. citizens or a permanent resident.
  • 4 year degree in Business, Finance, Sales & Marketing, Metallurgy/Material Science or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of quoting, pricing, costing, or business analytics experience.
  • Must be able to interpret blueprints and specifications.
  • Proficient in oral and written communication with management and staff.
  • Microsoft Office and Excel proficiency; Salesforce/CRM experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of business math, basic accounting, P&L and cost interpretation.
  • Must read, write, and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare quotations and LTAs/contracts across HIP, HT, and Surface Technology units.
  • Create quotations and pricing guidelines using a disciplined costing model.
  • Use Salesforce for accurate quote tracking and data entry.
  • Develop pricing with procedures, collaborating with sales, operations and customer service.
  • Assist with quote revisions as directed by Commercial Director and managers.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams to analyze pricing and strategy.
  • Coordinate with quality, order entry, billing and accounts receivable to resolve issues.
  • Prepare and present meaningful metrics to sales and management.
  • Promote teamwork across plants and corporate staff; comply with EMS.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary: The NA Commercial Analyst, reporting to the Commercial Director, is responsible for preparing commercial analytics, pricing data, costing data, and quotations for the division’s plants with guidance from the commercial director and commercial team members. The role partners closely with sales, customer service, operations and legal to develop accurate, professional quotations and assists with the preparation of NDAs, LTAs and other contracts that meet business and customer expectations. This role will also perform commercial analytics on metrics such as quote turnaround time, quote volume and number of quotes created, margin analysis, costing and capacity analysis, and other key commercial metrics.
Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities): The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to the following.

  • Prepare quotations and LTA’s/contracts across the relevant business units (HIP, HT, Surface Technology), under the guidance of the Senior Commercial Manager, Commercial Managers, and Senior Commercial Analysts in the team.
  • Prepare quotations and quoting/pricing guidelines using a disciplined mathematical model based on established standards of costing, margin expectations, and competitive knowledge.
  • Utilize Salesforce for accurate quote tracking, with accurate data entry and attention to detail.
  • Follows established procedures to develop pricing on various processes for plants, collaborating with Commercial team members, sales, operations, and customer service as required.
  • Assist with quote revisions as assigned by Commercial Director and Commercial Managers.
  • Collaborates with customers and internal stakeholders to analyze and assess pricing, quotes, and business strategy.
  • Collaborates with customers and internal departments such as quality, customer service, order entry, billing and accounts receivables to resolve issues and create relevant reporting, analytics, and metrics.
  • Meaningful metrics are prepared and presented to sales and commercial management on a regular basis.
  • Promote and practice team work with other plants and corporate staff.
  • Must work in a manner consistent with the EMS.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
  • Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism.

  • Must be able to work in a sitting position for extended periods of time (at desk, while driving, and/or on airplane travel) in an office/industrial environment.
  • Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
  • Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions.
  • Ability to lift 25-30 lbs.
  • May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
  • Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
  • Ability to hear in person and via phone.
