Job summary

The Systems Group in Decatur, AL is seeking a Combo Pipe Welder to join our team. You will lay out, weld, and install piping systems and related structures, ensuring safe, accurate work across day/night shifts.

The role requires reading prints, layout and fit-up, and the ability to weld carbon and stainless steel in multiple positions. We offer company-subsidized health insurance, a 401(k) with match, paid vacation, and opportunities for continuing education.

Qualifications

• Experience in Combo Pipe Welding in an industrial setting is preferred.
• Must have OSHA 10.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Weld carbon and stainless steel pipe and read prints.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly.
• Weld components of piping systems, plates, pipes and tubes as specified.
• Plan installation to avoid obstructions and minimize interference with others.
• Secure pipes to structures with brackets, clamps, and hangers.
• Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.

Location: Shutdown - Decatur, AL

Pay Rate: $34/ Hour $125/Day Per Diem

Hours:6 Day Duration Day/Night Shifts

Combo Pipe Welder Job Responsibilities:

• Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly
• Weld together metal components of products such as piping systems, plates, pipes and tube or structural shapes, as specified by layout, blueprints, diagram, work order, welding procedures, or oral instructions, using electric arc-welding equipment
• Plan installation or repair to avoid obstructions and avoid interfering with the activities of other workers
• Secure pipes to structure with bracket, clamps, and hangers, using hand tools and power tools
• Weld in any direction - flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions

Combo Pipe Welder Job Skills:

• Must be able to observe and recognize problems during the welding process and adjust speed, voltage, amperage, or feed of the rod
• Must be able to read and interpret prints and plans
• Must be able to properly use tools
• Must be able to weld both carbon steel and stainless steel pipe
• Must be able to do basic math
• Must be able to make precise measurements
• Use stick, mig, tig, and flux core welding techniques to weld various components in varying positions

Experience and Requirements:

• Combo Pipe Welding in an industrial setting is preferred
• Must have OSHA 10
• OSHA Approved Met-Guard boots - MT75 (annual company allowance provided)
• Must be able to weld and pass qualification test coupons during the pre-employment test
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
