Job summary

DC Army National Guard Combat Engineers design and build bridges, roadways, secure perimeters, and tactical firing systems while safeguarding the team. You’ll detect and neutralize mines and hazards to protect soldiers in unpredictable environments.

You will learn basic demolitions, explosives handling, and heavy equipment operation through hands-on training and a structured program that combines combat skills with construction excellence.

Qualifications

• Must be able to enlist in the Army National Guard.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ages 17–35.
• Must pass a physical exam.
• Citizenship per NATIONALGUARD.com details.

Responsibilities

• Construct fighting positions, bridges, obstacles, and defensive positions.
• Place and detonate explosives as required.
• Conduct route clearance operations of obstacles and rivers.
