Administer medications via approved routes (oral, topical, instillation, inhalation) in accordance with Ohio scope of practice, facility policy, and nurse delegation
Apply the Six Rights of Medication Administration: right patient, right medication, right dose, right time, right route, and right documentation
Monitor residents for side effects, adverse reactions, or changes in condition and report concerns promptly to supervising nurse
Accurately document medication administration and resident responses per facility and regulatory guidelines
Assist with vital signs and basic resident observations when permitted by facility policy
Provide personal care support as needed (bathing, grooming, dressing, mobility, toileting)
Communicate clearly with nursing leadership and facility staff regarding resident needs
Follow all infection control, safety, and facility protocols
Participate in required trainings, audits, and quality assurance initiatives
Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and respectful interactions with residents, families, and staff
Perform other related duties as assigned
High School Diploma or GED
Active Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification in the State of Ohio, issued by the Ohio Board of Nursing
Active State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA) certification listed on the Ohio Nurse Aide Registry
Completion of an Ohio Board of Nursing–approved Medication Aide training program and competency evaluation
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, assist with resident mobility, and stand/walk for extended periods
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication administration and documentation
Effective communication skills in English (reading, writing, and verbal)
Minimum 1 year of experience in a medication administration or Med Tech role preferred
