Job summary

Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH seeks a Colorectal Surgeon to lead our Division of Colorectal Surgery. The role includes leadership of a four-surgeon team, broad-based colorectal practice, and opportunities for endoscopy and academic activity.

The ideal candidate will have an MD/DO with Colorectal Surgery Fellowship, be board-certified, and eligible for NH licensure. This is a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment with a strong focus on education and research.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an ACGME- (or RCPSC-) accredited general surgery residency.
• Fellowship training in Colorectal Surgery.
• Board certification by the American Board of Surgery.
• Eligible for NH state medical licensure.

Responsibilities

• Lead a division of colorectal surgeons and APPs.
• Provide a broad-based colorectal practice within an academic medical center.
• Opportunity for endoscopy procedures at affiliated locations.
• Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team and mentor residents/faculty.
• Participate in teaching and protected research time; academic appointment expected.
• Manage Q4 call by week under a productivity-based compensation model.

Overview

Colorectal Surgery Division ChiefDartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center – Lebanon, NH

Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, a leading academic medical center and tertiary care referral center in Lebanon NH, seeks a skilled and highly motivated Colorectal Surgeon to lead our Division of Colorectal Surgery. Leading a team of three surgeons and three advanced practice providers, the ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, a commitment to education, and a passion for advancing the field of colorectal surgery through research and innovation. Surgical experience in open, laparoscopic, and robotic surgery and a willingness to contribute to the care of patients with cancer, inflammatory bowel, anorectal, and other diseases are ideal. The successful candidate will also have a track record as a leader, with visibility in regional and national surgical societies and demonstrated excellence in interpersonal communication skills and in mentoring surgical residents and junior faculty.

Candidates must hold an MD, DO, or equivalent degree, have completed training in general surgery in an ACGME-accredited residency, and have completed an accredited Colorectal Surgery Fellowship. The ideal candidate will have a track record of accomplishment in academic surgery that will enable them to be appointed at the rank of Associate Professor or full Professor at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth.
