Northwell Health seeks a full-time Chief of Colorectal Surgery for Peconic Bay Medical Center on Long Island. The role leads the Colorectal Surgery program, oversees clinical direction, and collaborates with surgical colleagues and advanced practice providers to deliver high-quality care.

The ideal candidate will have MD or DO, board certification in General Surgery, and extensive experience in colorectal surgery, with leadership experience in an academic or integrated health system.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Board Certification in General Surgery required.
• Extensive experience and specialization in colorectal surgery.
• Eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in New York.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for the development and clinical direction of the Colorectal Surgery program.
• Maintain an active clinical practice, including minimally invasive and robotic-assisted techniques.
• Build referral relationships with primary care and gastroenterology colleagues across the North Fork region.
• Lead initiatives focused on quality, patient safety, operational excellence, and program development.
• Advance departmental growth through strategic planning, recruitment, and service line expansion.
• Partner with hospital and system leadership on administrative, financial, and operational priorities.
• Promote a culture of professionalism, teamwork, diversity, and physician engagement.
