Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services invites applications for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to lead the Colorectal Screening Clinic and provide comprehensive care to patients with focus on preventive screening and family education.

The role involves autonomous practice with strong physician and interdisciplinary support, managing patient visits, orders, and documentation while collaborating with a broad care team in Albuquerque, NM.

Qualifications

• For Nurse Practitioner: Masters degree in Nursing, New Mexico NP license, federal and state DEA license and ANCC or AANP certification required.
• For Physician Assistant: Baccalaureate prepared CAHEA Certified Physician Assistant or two (2) years working experience as a Certified Physician Assistant, and licensed by the New Mexico Board of Medical Examiners required. Minimum of one year experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the Colorectal Screening Clinic
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients through evidence-based care
• Prescribe medications, treatments, and non-pharmacologic therapies as appropriate
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies, laboratory tests, and imaging
• Provide patient and family education, counseling, and preventive health guidance
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care
• Serve as a patient advocate and healthcare resource for individuals and families
• Participate in teaching, mentoring, and interdisciplinary consultation as needed
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support clinic operations and patient care excellence
