Job description

Color Materials and Graphics Designer – NIKE Inc., Beaverton, OR

Perform and apply specialized technical knowledge to design, create, and present high-quality, photorealistic 3D digital materials and complex procedural systems using Adobe Substance Designer and the Adobe Substance 3D Suite. Develop advanced parametric and algorithm-driven material systems to support scalable, non-destructive material authoring and design iteration. Execute look development, lighting, and rendering workflows by applying an advanced understanding of the interaction between color, materials, and light using physically based and path-tracing rendering engines. Utilize real-time rendering engines and workflows to support interactive visualization and design evaluation. Design, develop, and maintain custom tools and procedural workflows to accelerate internal design processes and improve efficiency, quality, and consistency of digital material creation. Define, document, and maintain technical standards, best practices, and reusable systems for digital material creation and visualization workflows. Analyze requirements and design, create, and present new technical workflows and tools that enable faster and more informed design decision-making. Share tools, workflows, and technical knowledge with internal partners to improve team-wide productivity and capability. Partner cross-functionally with design and development teams to recommend, define, and implement 3D and procedural design workflows. Influence design and development teams to adopt and collaborate using advanced 3D, procedural, and computational tools. Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship by teaching new tools, techniques, and workflows to team members. Collaborate across project teams and technical environments to meet milestones and deliverables.
