Job summary

ABRA Auto Body & Glass is seeking a Collision Center Detailer with an eye for detail and cleanliness. The detail is the final step in the transformation and repair of damaged vehicles.

Starting wage at $18.00 hourly. Benefits include health/dental/vision, life, 401(k) with company match, FLEX account, EAP through Avera, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• THIS POSITION REQUIRES A VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE AND CLEAN DRIVING RECORD.
• Ability to operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles in tight spaces.

Responsibilities

• Wash vehicle exterior, clean interior and exterior windows, and wipe down doorjambs.
• Apply wax to auto body and buff surface.
• Vacuum interior and clean upholstery, rugs and surfaces.
• Clean engine and engine compartment with appropriate cleaning agents.
• Inspect vehicles for dents, scratches and other defects.
• Restore appearance of engine area, upholstery and painted surfaces.
• Use eye, hand and body protection when using cleaning products.
• Report safety issues to management.

DUTIES

• Wash vehicle exterior, clean interior and exterior windows, and wipes down doorjambs.
• Applies wax to auto body, and wipes or buffs surface.
• Vacuums interior of vehicles to remove loose dirt and debris.
• Cleans upholstery, rugs, and other surfaces, using appropriate cleaning agents, applicators, and cleaning devices.
• Cleans engine and engine compartment with steam-cleaning equipment and/or various cleaning agents.
• Inspects vehicles for noticeable defects, such as dents, scratches, torn upholstery, and poor mechanical operation.
• Restores appearance of engine area, rugs and upholstery, and painted surfaces. Uses touch-up paint, dyes, and other appropriate materials.
• Uses proper eye, hand, and body protection when using products that require protection.
• Fills vehicle with fuel.
• Applies dressing on tires and tire wells.
• Keeps work area neat and clean.
• Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
• Reports any safety issues immediately to management.

The ideal candidate must be at least 18 years of age. THIS POSITION REQUIRES A VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE AND CLEAN DRIVING RECORD. This individual must have the ability to operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles and operate them in tight spaces.
