Job summary

Keene State College seeks an Assistant Coach for the Men’s Ice Hockey Club to develop players’ skills and prepare for games under the guidance of the head coach. The role emphasizes safe techniques and risk management to protect student-athletes.

You will work with the coaching staff on practice planning, game strategy, roster decisions, and budget/scheduling tasks while upholding university policies and promoting sportsmanship on and off the ice.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience playing and/or coaching ice hockey.
• Current USA Hockey coaching certification and SafeSport certification.
• Computer literate: ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Suite and various online platforms for scheduling, compliance, etc.

Responsibilities

• Follow Club Sport Program and Office of Student Involvement policies.
• Adhere to Keene State College policies on Sexual Misconduct, Discriminatory Harassment, Amorous Relationships and Hazing.
• Seek immediate assistance from an administrator for suspected misconduct.
• Assist Coach in practice planning, supervision, game strategy, line-up decisions and ensure supervision during all practice time.
• Oversee budget planning, season scheduling, equipment inventory, compliance with NECHA & ACHA policies, and marketing/recruiting.
• Model good behavior and sportsmanship with opponents, coaches and officials.
