Job summary

CDPHP offers a paid 10-week Summer College Internship Program from June to August. Interns engage in development workshops, work on meaningful projects, and are mentored by managers. Tracks span non-technical and technical areas, with housing not provided, and opportunities to learn about core business concepts.

Interns gain exposure to a range of divisions, participate in group projects, and deliver presentations at program completion. Regular attendance and confidentiality are emphasized.

• Desire majors include paralegal or social sciences and related programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to interact with staff at all levels.
• High school diploma with continuous college enrollment and good academic standing.

Summary:

The Summer College Internship Program is a 10-week paid internship experience that provides undergraduate and graduate students with the opportunity to attend development workshops, network, and be part of our company. Our college interns work on meaningful projects, are mentored under their respective managers, and continue to develop throughout the entire summer. Through the internship program, our interns can attend development workshops that are focused on key business concepts. Interns may work within the skills-based tracks of Business Administration, Information Technology, Actuarial, Human Resources, Analytics & Data, Communications, Finance, Marketing & Sales, Project Management, Clinical Studies, Customer Experience, Digital Operations, and other non-technical and/or technical based degree programs.

• This is a paid 10-week summer internship from the first Monday in June to the second Friday in August (up to 40 hours per week).
• Interns may reside in either a technical or non-technical area.
• Development workshops are provided to help with the transition from school to the corporate environment.
• Housing is not provided as part of our program.

Essential Accountabilities:

• Performs a mix of technical and/or non-technical tasks that will cover a broad range of business-related projects.
• Creates and delivers presentations at completion of internship.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Desired Majors/Degree Programs Include: Paralegal, Social Sciences (i.e. Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Law/Pre-Law, etc.) or similar program(s)
• Preferred (but not required) experience with: Detail oriented and analytical. Valuable course studies: legal research and ERISA
• High School diploma along with proof of continuous college enrollment (enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program).
• Must be in good academic standing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to interact with technical and non-technical audiences and interface with staff at all levels of the company.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail changing environment and deliver high-quality work product.
• Ability to work well in a team establishing good working relationships with peers.
• Demonstrates strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving and prioritization skills.
• Proactive approach to work, displaying creativity and flexibility in completing assigned tasks.
• Commitment to continuous improvement of skills and team functioning.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as on intra- and inter- departmental teams as needed.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using a desktop computer in a professional environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work while sitting and/or standing at a workstation viewing a computer and using a keyboard, mouse and/or phone for three (3) or more hours at a time.
• Ability to travel across the Health Plan service region for meetings and/or training courses as needed.
