Job summary

The role requires a degree or 2–3 years in commercial collections, SAP experience preferred, strong communication and Excel skills, and a proactive approach to process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in a relevant field or 2–3 years of proven experience in commercial collections.
• SAP experience preferred.
• Strong problem analysis and solving skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to tell the story to diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated process improvements and innovative thinking.
• Ability to professionally manage difficult customer communications.
• Strong Excel skills including formulas, graphs, pivot tables, and linked spreadsheets.
• Relates well to all levels of internal and external people; builds constructive relationships.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and review the customer aging, identifying overdue accounts and ensuring they are handled per our collection policy.
• Influence and hold customers accountable to payment terms; drive KPIs (Aging, Days to Pay, DSO).
• Manage a project to identify and collect customer Accounts Payable contact information and sales tax exemption certificates, inputting data into supporting software.
• Facilitate meetings with accounts to troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies or concerns.
• Apply critical thinking toward data to determine next actions and recommend account strategies.
• Communicate risks and key account information to leadership and cross-functional teams as appropriate.
• Recommend and prepare bad debt write-offs with supporting documents for approval.
• Prepare weekly 60+ Day past due report commentary for leadership visibility.
• Participate in collection projects to improve results, DSO and delinquency.
• Collaborate with business partners to ensure best-in-class practices.
• Identify process improvements and gaps in current procedures to improve prioritization and management of past due receivables.
