Job summary

Coastal Waste & Recycling Inc. is hiring a Collection Specialist to work alongside a Driver in collecting residential, commercial, and industrial waste and recyclables. The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and teamwork to ensure on-time service and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include backing as the Driver's spotter, performing pre- and post-trip checks, and maintaining a safe route with awareness of hazards. Prior related experience and bilingual ability are a plus.

Qualifications

• Emphasizes safety, teamwork, and customer service.
• Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work.
• Prior experience in waste management, construction, landscaping, or warehouse work is a plus.
• Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Creole preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with a Driver to safely collect residential, commercial, and industrial waste and recyclables.
• Safely lift, move, and load carts, containers, bags into collection vehicles.
• Act as the Driver’s spotter during backing maneuvers with clear visual guidance.
• Maintain awareness of traffic, pedestrians, and hazards to ensure safe operations.
• Assist with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report safety concerns.
• Provide friendly, professional customer service to customers and the public.
• Wear PPE and follow safety policies and procedures.
• Support other collection teams or operational needs as directed.
