Job summary

Valpak is hiring a Print Production Technician – Collation to operate automated collation and print production equipment in a climate-controlled facility. You will monitor lines, respond to alarms, perform resets, and help maintain safety and quality across shifts.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of manufacturing experience, basic math, and color vision, with willingness to learn. Training is provided, and opportunities exist for career advancement through our VMC Progression Program.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of manufacturing, warehouse, assembly, or related experience preferred.
• Experience with automated production equipment or commercial printing is a plus.
• Ability to obtain and safely operate Powered Industrial Truck (PIT).
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and production specs.
• Ability to distinguish a full range of colors for quality inspection.
• Basic to intermediate math skills; strong communication and teamwork.

What Your Day Looks Like

You'll spend your shift working alongside an experienced production team operating automated collation equipment that assembles, sorts, and prepares printed mail products for distribution.

Throughout the day, you'll monitor production lines, respond to equipment alerts, perform routine machine resets and adjustments, inspect finished products for quality, and help keep production moving efficiently. Every day is active, hands‑on, and focused on producing a high‑quality product that reaches millions of homes.

What You'll Do

• Operate and monitor automated collation and print production equipment.
• Monitor production lines to ensure continuous, efficient operation.
• Respond to equipment alarms and perform routine machine resets and adjustments.
• Troubleshoot minor mechanical and process issues while escalating more complex concerns when appropriate.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance to help minimize equipment downtime.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet company quality standards.
• Communicate equipment, quality, or production concerns to team leaders and Senior Process Technicians.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Cross‑train on additional equipment throughout the production area.
• Participate in our paid VMC Progression Program to develop new technical skills and advance your career.

Requirements

• One to two years of manufacturing, warehouse, assembly, machine operation, or other industrial experience is preferred.
• Previous experience with automated production equipment or commercial printing is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to obtain and safely operate Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) equipment.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and production specifications.
• Ability to distinguish a full range of colors for quality inspection.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (SAP experience is a plus).
• Basic to intermediate math skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

This is an active manufacturing position in a clean, climate-controlled production facility. Candidates must be able to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Climb ladders and safely work at varying heights.
• Work around automated industrial equipment and moving machinery.
• Work in a manufacturing environment where hearing protection is required.
• Work overtime or weekends as production needs require.
