Job summary

The Allentown City School District is seeking a Facilitator (Special Education) to support planning, coordination and program delivery of special education at school and district levels. The role involves collaboration with families, students and educators, and providing direct and indirect support to students, parents, teachers and administrators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in special education or related field; master's preferred.
• Valid PA Teaching Certificate (Special Education); supervision certificate preferred.
• Clearances (Acts 34, 114, 151) and FBI clearances.
• Five+ years of successful teaching experience in public education (Special Education).
• Ability to perform all essential duties; accommodations may be made as needed.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with staff, parents, community and advocates on services for students with disabilities.
• Provides guidance and technical assistance on placement and compliance for newly identified students.
• Promotes appropriate special education programs for various disabilities with certified personnel.
• Supports RTI model and Tier 4–special education framework.
• Acts as liaison between special education and general education programs.
