Job summary

Spectrum 360 A NJ Non Profit Corp. is seeking a Special Education Elementary teacher with ABA training for Clinton Elementary School. The role requires experience in a special education classroom or resource room and knowledge of behavior modification.

You will collaborate with academic teachers in a team setting and implement instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs, with ongoing assessment and communication with families and staff.

Qualifications

• NJ Teacher of the Handicapped or Teacher of Students with Disabilities and Elementary Education certification.
• Knowledge of NJCCS and NCLB.
• ABA experience.
• Teaching experience with special needs students preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements instruction to meet individual student needs, interests, and abilities.
• Creates a conducive classroom environment appropriate to students’ maturity and interests.
• Guides learning toward curriculum goals and objectives.
• Employs instructional methods and materials aligned with objectives.
• Assesses student performance and provides progress reports as required.
• Identifies students needing additional support services.
• Communicates with colleagues, students, and parents.
• Maintains high expectations for performance and behavior.
• Engages in professional development to improve instructional practice.
• Participates in building and district meetings.
• Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
• Uses technology for communication and instruction.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
