Job summary

The Simplot Company in the United States is seeking General Laborers to support multiple operations across our facilities. This entry-level role involves operating a forklift, processing bulk tickets, and maintaining clean work areas to ensure safe production flows.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, the ability to read and communicate clearly, and physical stamina to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied conditions.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, understand, and communicate to perform job duties.
• Must be able to perform basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication and counting).
• Must be able to perform basic computer skills (turn on computer, use a mouse, save a document, open a file).
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 450 lbs with equipment.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and work in extreme conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operating a forklift to handle bulk product and materials.
• Scanning, creating or reworking bulk tickets.
• Cleaning food contact surfaces, floors, and the work environment.

Summary

General Laborers work in various areas and perform a variety of jobs and tasks required to maintain smooth operation and to assist when specific needs arise.

Key Responsibilities

Tasks include, but are not limited to: operating a fork lift to handle all bulk product and materials related to work area; scanning, creating or reworking bulk tickets; cleaning food contact surfaces, floors, framework and the environment of the assigned work area; fully understanding the purpose andoperation of the Cold and Day Room Areas andmaking decisions based on sound judgment as a situation may dictate.

Typical Education

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Must be able to read, understand, and communicate in a manner to successfully perform the job duties.

Must be able to perform basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication and counting).

Must be able to perform basic computer skills (turn computer on, use a mouse, save a document, and open a file or program).

Must be able to tell time.

Must be able to distinguish colors.

Must have manual dexterity in both hands.

Must be able to meet physical requirements to safely drive a forklift; ie: drive backward while looking over shoulder, etc.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs in a safe and proper manner.

Must be able to use up to 50 pounds of push/pull force needed to push/pull barrels weighing up to 450 lbs using a rolling devic

Must be able to maneuver in close quarters and climb stairs and ladders.

Must be able to stand on concrete floors for long periods of time.

Must be able to work in extreme environments: hot or cold temperatures and wet and slick floors.

Must be able to work with and around hazardous chemicals wearing appropriate PPE, includes but no limited to, full wetsuit, boots, chemical gloves and face shield or goggles.
