Job summary

Grand Central Bakery is seeking a Cook to support the consistent production of cold side kitchen items including salads, condiments, sliced meats and cheeses, and soup prep. The Cook will maintain walk-in inventory, assist Senior Cooks, and ensure timely packaging for delivery, with emphasis on detail and teamwork.

The role requires attention to detail, a commitment to continual skill improvement, and the ability to work in a production-level team environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Professional experience as a prep cook required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak basic English; English/Spanish bilingual preferred.
• Must demonstrate regular attendance and reliable schedule including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a clean, organized workstation.
• Competent in dishwashing, packing, and cold prep.
• Trains staff on Station I and signs orders/invoices.
• Organizes dry storage and walk-ins; meets timing goals for all stations.
• Assists hot prep station with roasted meats and basic hot prep items.
• Follows food safety requirements (GMP, HAACP, food defense).
