Stanley Black & Decker Inc. in Elyria, OH is seeking an Experienced Cold Forming Header Operator for the 2nd shift (3pm – 11pm).

You will set up and operate solid and open die headers and related equipment to produce high‑quality parts, inspect progressions and ensure proper material flow. You must have a high school diploma or equivalent and preferably experience with cold heading machines; good tooling knowledge and the ability to suggest tooling for new work are valued.

• Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and maintain quality.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate solid and open die headers, including progressive type headers and all associated production equipment.
• Set up and operate thread rollers and other equipment associated with the heading operation.
• Etch critical progressions and check for seams, scratches, cold shuts and other defects.
• Control volume, balance material flow and achieve proper flowlines.
• Perform dimensional inspection including contour, profile and radii tracing.
• Interpret surface non-conformities and material flow defects.
• Master Cold Forming Trimming Operation.
• Maintain production integrity and controls.

What You’ll Do

As a Cold Forming Header Operator, you’ll be part of our team located in Elyria, OH. You’ll get to:

• Set up and operate solid and open die headers, including progressive type headers and all associated production equipment.
• Set up and operate thread rollers and other equipment associated with the heading operation.
• Etch critical progressions and check for: seams, scratches, cold shuts, chevrons, ring in bearing surfaces and any other defects that will affect fatigue.
• Volume control, balance material flow and achieve proper flowlines.
• Complete dimensional inspection, including and not limited to contour tracing, profile tracing, critical radii tracing.
• Interpret Macroscopic surface non-conformities and material flow defects.
• Capability to master Cold Forming Trimming Operation
• Maintain high level of production integrity and controls.

• Participate in progression layout development, tool life improvements and quality advancements.
• Perform Hi Volume Team Member duties.
• Responsible for box/container making, washing, packaging (including weigh up, labeling, sealing, wrapping), transport and store in inventory location and maintaining appropriate documents.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment requiring the employee to stand and walk for majority of an 8 to 10-hour day.
• Bend, lift product, equipment and tools up to 50 pounds throughout the day.
