Job summary

Fortune Fish & Gourmet in Illinois is seeking a Warehouse Associate to load and unload deliveries, pick items from the warehouse, and prepare shipments. You will move stock to staging areas, secure loads on pallets, and operate a forklift, reach truck, and electric pallet jack as needed.

The role emphasizes safety, clean work areas, and adherence to procedures. Candidates should be able to lift up to 49 pounds, work extended hours, and communicate effectively in English; Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• General labor experience, preferably in a refrigerated warehouse.
• Ability to operate a forklift proficiently.
• Strong people skills.
• Willingness to work in a cold climate (35º).
• Physical ability to lift up to 49 pounds and stand/walk up to 8 hours.
• Physically strong, agile and able to work in adverse conditions.
• Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus.
• Ability to operate forklift, reach truck, and electric pallet jack safely.
• Available to work at least 40 hours per week and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring cleanliness, tidiness, and safety of the work environment.
• Loading and unloading delivery vehicles.
• Accepting delivery of inventory.
• Counting and confirming inventory.
• Inspecting inventory for damage and faults.
• Communicating errors with relevant parties.
• Marking and labeling stock.
• Storing inventory in an accessible manner.
• Loading and wrapping stock on pallets.
• Building loads with forklift and electronic pallet jack.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
