Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is seeking a Coil Winder (Machine Operator) for 2nd Shift in Santa Ana, CA. This full-time role involves winding coils for electrical equipment and transformers using winding machines and hand tools, following diagrams and work orders.

You will read wiring diagrams, inspect coil quality, and maintain productivity standards while keeping work areas clean and safe. Strong preference for welding/brazing experience; high school diploma or GED required.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly.
• Experience with welding/brazing is preferred.
• Forklift certification is a plus (on-site training available).

Responsibilities

• Wind coils for dry-type transformers and electrical equipment using winding machines and hand tools.
• Interpret wiring diagrams, work orders, and samples to determine coil specifications (wire type/size, length, windings).
• Inspect coil quality and conformance with specifications; maintain productivity standards.
• Keep work areas clean and organized; adhere to safety policies and regulations.

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Coil Winder (Machine Operator) - 2nd Shift. We are a leader in the design and production of critical power distribution products for many specific segements.The Coil Winder (Machine Operator)- 2nd Shift role offers a full time work week of 40 hours and potential overtime. Hours: 1:45 PM- 10:15 PM. Full Benefits and 401k plan is offered to you day one of employment.The hourly rate for this position is $29.80/Hour per hour plus a $1/hour shift premium.Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.What you’ll do:This position will be responsible for winding coils used in electrical equipment and instruments or as electronic components, according to wiring diagrams, sample coil, or work order, using coil-winding machines and hand tools. Reviews wiring diagrams and work order or examines sample coil to ascertain type and size of wire specified, and type, size, length, circumference, and primary and secondary windings of coil to be wound.In this function you will:Wind standard coils for dry type transformersUtilize hook-up/hot work assembly tools to meet production demandsInspect product quality and installation to ensure conformance to production quality standards related to coil dimension, bus bar location, etc.Maintain a minimum of 80% of productivity time standardsAdhere to company regulations, including adherence to policies regarding safety, attendance and punctualityInterpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics and blueprintsKeep all work areas clean, organized and presentableComply with all applicable U.S. export control and security regulationsQualifications:Required (Basics):Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the futureNo relocation benefit is being offered for this position.
