Job summary

Select Medical, in partnership with OhioHealth Neuro Transitional Center, seeks a Cognitive Therapist (LPCC) for a PRN position in Dublin, Ohio. The role focuses on cognitive rehabilitation and counseling within a trans-disciplinary team at a 12-bed Neuro Transitional Center.

Responsibilities include initial assessments, individualized therapy, family education, and integration of neuropsychological results into care plans.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree appropriate to position required.
• Licensed LPC/ Licensed Professional Counselor, Neuropsychologist.
• Certified BLS completion required; CPR guidelines for new hires.

Responsibilities

• Conducts comprehensive initial assessment within scope of practice.
• Collaborates with the transdisciplinary team to determine patient outcomes.
• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions within scope of practice.
• Promotes patient and family understanding.
• Participates in patient team and family conferences.
• Provides cognitive rehabilitation therapy addressing identified impairments and functional activities.
• Integrates neuropsychological test results into the plan of care and behavioral plans.
• Develops behavioral plans and educates workforce for consistency.

Position:

Cognitive Therapist (LPCC) (Independently Licensed)

PRN/Per Diem

Compensation:

$25.48 - $43 per hour

Great opportunity to provide counseling and cognitive, functional therapy to support the recovery of patients who have suffered from an Acquired Brain Injury or Spinal Cord Injury in our unique setting. At times individuals with a brain injury may have pre-existing psychological or mental health issues. This person would be joining a trans-disciplinary team of PT, OT, SLP, Counseling, Rec Therapist, Case Manager, Nursing at the Neuro Transitional Center, a 12 bed facility.

Employees In This Position Will

• Conducts comprehensive initial assessment within scope of practice
• Collaborates with the transdisciplinary team to determine the patient expected outcome
• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions within scope of practice
• Promotes patient and family understanding
• Patient team conferences and family conferences
• Provides cognitive rehabilitation therapy addressing identified impairments incorporating personally relevant functional activities created based upon patient interests and goals
• Participates in goal directed community integration activities
• Incorporates formal neuropsychological test results into the plan of care, therapy tasks, and behavioral management plans
• Develops behavioral plans for patients, educates workforce members to assure consistency, monitors, and adjusts as needed

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree appropriate to position required
• Licensed LPC/ Licensed Professional Counselor, Neuropsychologist
