Job description

About Synapticure

Synapticure is the largest, most comprehensive specialty care and life sciences company in the country for those living with neurodegenerative diseases. Founded by patients and caregivers living with these diseases, we are redefining the care and the research paradigm for conditions like Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and ALS in all 50 states.

Our business is powered by two connected engines.

The CARES Engine (Clinical Operations)

A scalable, 50-state virtualized clinical network providing timely access to expert neurologists and cutting edge treatments with wraparound care coordination and behavioral health support. Our team creates personalized care plans focused on education and empowerment, connecting patients with a multidisciplinary team of subspecialty neurologists, geriatricians, psychologists, and care coordinators who collaborate to deliver comprehensive care.

The CURES Engine (Research & Innovation)

Leveraging our deeply engaged, well characterized national patient cohort, CURES partners with life science, pharma, biotech, and medical device companies to accelerate the development of neurodegenerative treatments, spanning discovery stage lab services, clinical trial services, and real world evidence data and analytics.

Partnering with providers, health plans, and life sciences companies, including CMS' GUIDE dementia care model, Synapticure is dedicated to transforming the lives of millions of individuals and their families living with neurodegenerative diseases.

About The Role

Synapticure is seeking a Cognitive Neurologist to provide expert clinical care for patients living with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and related cognitive disorders. While this role is primarily focused on Neurologists, Geriatricians with direct experience in amyloid-targeting therapies will also be considered.

In this role, you will conduct comprehensive virtual evaluations, diagnose and manage complex neurodegenerative conditions, and collaborate closely with interdisciplinary team members—including advanced practice providers (APPs), behavioral health specialists, and care coordinators—to ensure a seamless and supportive patient experience.

As a Cognitive Neurologist, you will play a critical role in direct patient care, ensuring adherence to clinical standards and telehealth regulations. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in cognitive care including memory disorders, thrives in a virtual care environment, and is passionate about expanding access to specialized neurological care for patients and families across the country.

The Day to Day
  • Conduct virtual consultations, cognitive assessments, and diagnostic evaluations for patients with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, mild cognitive impairment (MCI), and related conditions
  • Develop individualized, evidence-based care plans that incorporate pharmacologic management, cognitive therapy recommendations, and supportive care strategies
  • Oversee the prescription of medications, ordering of diagnostic tests, and interpretation of results as part of comprehensive patient care
  • Collaborate with behavioral health clinicians, care coordinators, and other interdisciplinary team members to optimize care continuity and quality outcomes
  • Participate in case conferences and team meetings to review complex cases and contribute to clinical decision-making
  • Stay current with emerging therapies, including anti-amyloid and disease-modifying treatments for dementia, and support patient education regarding these options
  • Support caregiver engagement and education, helping families understand disease progression, treatment plans, and available resources
  • Document all encounters accurately and promptly in the electronic health record (EHR), ensuring compliance with telehealth and regulatory standards
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of Synapticure’s cognitive care protocols, leveraging technology to streamline care delivery and enhance patient experience
Minimum Qualifications
  • MD or DO from an accredited institution
  • Completion of a residency in Neurology (with fellowship training in Behavioral/Cognitive Neurology or equivalent experience strongly preferred); or completion of a residency/fellowship in Geriatric Medicine with documented experience in amyloid-targeting therapies
  • Board certification in Neurology (ABPN) or Geriatric Medicine required
  • Active, unrestricted medical license in at least one U.S. state; multi-state or IMLC eligibility preferred
  • 3+ years of clinical experience managing patients with memory or cognitive disorders
  • Demonstrated proficiency in telemedicine platforms and digital tools for conducting virtual neurological evaluations
  • Strong clinical expertise in cognitive assessment, dementia management, and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Excellent communication skills for patient, family, and team interactions across virtual channels
  • Commitment to patient-centered, empathetic care and continuous learning in neurodegenerative disease management
Preferred Qualifications
  • Fellowship-trained in Cognitive and Behavioral Neurology with substantial experience treating Alzheimer’s and dementia-related conditions
  • Prior experience collaborating with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) in a multi-state or telehealth environment
  • Familiarity with amyloid targeting therapies and other emerging therapies for Alzheimer’s disease
  • Experience within an integrated, interdisciplinary care model or value-based care environment
Compensation

Final compensation will be determined based on location, experience, and qualifications.
