Job summary

Minds Matter LLC is seeking Cognitive/Behavioral Therapists to support individuals who have experienced traumatic brain injury. You will help develop cognitive strategies and adaptive skills, working with a multidisciplinary team to align goals with consumer plans.

You will educate families, document sessions, and participate in supervision and team meetings. The role emphasizes person-centered care, confidentiality, and community engagement.

Qualifications

  • High School or GED required with one year or more years of related experience preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication skills.
  • Must be organized, possess problem solving skills, and be able to multi task.
  • Must have advanced analytical skills.
  • High degree of sensitivity toward all people.
  • Ability to effectively plan, coordinate and assist with intake process and systems.
  • Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and implement Minds Matter LLC philosophical principles.
  • Assist individuals to identify needs and develop compensatory strategies for brain injury.
  • Develop techniques for enhancing problem solving, memory, planning, organizational and processing skills.
  • Integrate employment, educational and independent living goals into therapy.
  • Work with consumer and team to determine when goals are attained.
  • Provide services as designated on each consumer’s plan of care.
  • Educate families and caregivers about brain injury and communicate goals and progress.
  • Document sessions with the consumer day of service; be goal driven, concise, factual, and clear.
  • Attend weekly conference calls and webinars with licensed supervisors.
  • Maintain professional rapport with consumers, coworkers, referral agents and other agencies.
  • Promote public relations within agency and community.
  • Perform other duties; maintain an issued iPad.
  • Maintain HIPAA confidentiality.

Job description

BASIC FUNCTION:To work with individuals who have experienced a traumatic brain injury as a Cognitive Therapist or Behavioral Therapist.Cognitive Therapist works with individuals that have experienced a traumatic brain injury to develop and utilize methods that enhance cognitive functioning. The Cognitive Therapist assists the individual through various methods including guided practice on tasks that reflect particular cognitive functions, development of new skills and strategies for taking in new information, use of memory aids and other assistive devices.Behavioral Therapist works with individuals that have experienced a traumatic brain injury to change in ways that they would like to change. These strategies are used to help increase the quality of life of the individual with TBI in their community. Behavior Therapy emphasizes the individual’s current environment. It focuses on making positive changes in that environment while improving the individual’s self-control using procedures to expand the person’s skills, abilities, and level of independence.SPECIFIC DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for learning and implementing all aspects of Minds Matter LLC philosophical principles.Assists individuals to identify their needs and develop appropriate compensatory strategies to accommodate certain aspects of their brain injury.
