In this role, you'll craft beverages, keep the coffee shop stocked and spotless, and make sure every customer walks away with exactly what they came in for, and a smile to go with it.If you enjoy connecting with people, love a fast-paced environment, and take pride in doing things well, this could be a great fit for you.**What You'll Do**No two shifts are exactly the same, but here's what you can expect:* Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly, learning their names, and going the extra mile to make every visit a positive one* Take customer orders at the counter and over the phone, and assist with finding products and answering questions* Prepare and replenish coffee shop products as needed throughout your shift* Monitor product freshness and appearance and follow or develop a production list to stay ahead of daily needs* Handle food safely and keep the work area clean, neat, and up to department standards at all times* Check in product, put product away, and review invoices as needed* Run the department register and process payments where applicable* Remove trash promptly and maintain a tidy department* Work alongside your teammates to ensure a smooth, positive experience for every customer* Maintain compliance with Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and all company policies* Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed* You'll receive direction and support from: Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Store Operations, Perishables, and Health Wellness Home, Food Service Director, and Coffee Shop Department Manager**Your Skills**You don't need prior experience for this role! We'll happily train and support you as you grow. To be successful, you'll need to be able to:* Follow written and verbal instructions with confidence* Use basic math skills for simple addition, subtraction, counting, and recording* Communicate clearly with customers and teammates in a friendly, helpful way* Stay organized and keep up with the pace of a busy coffee shop environment* Less than a high school diploma or equivalent accepted; up to six months of similar or related experience preferred**Reporting Relationships****Accountable and Reports to:** Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Store Operations, Perishables, and Health Wellness Home, Food Service Director, and Coffee Shop Department Manager**Education and Experience*** Less than a high school diploma or equivalent experience accepted* Up to six months of similar or related work experience preferred**Physical Requirements*** Frequently stand and walk throughout a shift in sales, food service, or delivery areas* Where applicable to the role: ability to safely use sharp knives and blades for food preparation* Where applicable to the role: exposure to heat- and burn-related hazards associated with cooking, baking, or grilling equipment* Where applicable to the role: ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standards* Perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning/sanitation duties**Working Environment**This role is performed in a store coffee shop environment with significant pressure to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities throughout your shift.
