Oakland Schools in Michigan seeks a dedicated Athletics/Coaching professional to organize and lead programs, summer leagues, team camps, and skill clinics for elementary and middle school students. You will promote academics while fostering teamwork and sportsmanship.

Responsibilities include coordinating practices, communicating with athletes and families, and working closely with the Athletic Director to schedule contests and manage equipment and safety.

Formación

• Experience coaching the sport or activity in a school setting.
• Participation in the sport as a player is preferred.
• Punctuality and good attendance are essential.
• First-aid and basic sports injury training preferred.
• Teaching certification and prior teaching experience are desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Organize and/or participate in a summer league and team camp.
• Conduct fundamental skill clinics for elementary and middle school students.
• Promote academics as a major priority.
• Communicate positively with athletes, coaching staff, parents, administrators, and community.
• Demonstrate welfare focus for the total athletic program and broader district education goals.
• Observe and enforce school and district policies.
• Organize and inventory equipment.
• Submit all administrative material by deadlines.
• Plan and schedule regular practice programs in and out of season.
• Collaborate with the Athletic Director on interscholastic contest scheduling.
• Recommend equipment, supplies, and uniforms as appropriate.
• Maintain attendance forms, insurance records, and similar paperwork.
• Oversee safety conditions of facilities during activities and provide recommendations.
• Establish performance criteria for eligibility in interscholastic competition.
• Enforce discipline and sportsmanship at all times and manage penalties as needed.
• Perform any other duties assigned.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Organize and/or participate in a summer league and team camp
• Available to conduct fundamental skill clinics for elementary and middle school students
• Promote academics as a major priority
• Communicate positively with athletes, coaching staff, parents, administrators, and community
• Show an expressed interest in the welfare of the total athletic program as well as the other areas of the district's educational program
• Observe and administer all school and district policies
• Organize and inventory equipment
• Submit all administrative material by deadlines
• Plan and schedule a regular program of practice in and out of season
• Work closely with the Athletic Director in scheduling interscholastic contests
• Recommend purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms, as appropriate
• Maintain necessary attendance forms, insurance records, and similar paperwork
• Oversee the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that students are present, and make recommendations to the Athletic Director
• Establish performance criteria for eligibility in interscholastic competition in this sport
• Enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times, and establish and oversee penalties for breach of such standards by individual students
• Such other duties as may be assigned
