Job summary

Halifax Health in Daytona Beach is seeking a Coding Specialist I to perform ED and Ancillary coding using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4, ensuring accuracy and adherence to coding guidelines. The role includes verifying all charges meet OCE and NCCI edits and querying physicians when documentation is needed.

The ideal candidate has 1 year of ED/Ancillary coding experience in an acute care setting and holds RHIT, CCS, CCSP or CPC certification or equivalent.

Qualifications

• 2-year coding program covering anatomy, physiology, CPT-4 and ICD-10-CM.
• 1 year ED/Ancillary coding in an acute care setting.
• CCS, RHIT, CCSP or CPC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Code ED and Ancillary accounts using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4.
• Verify and ensure charges meet OCE and NCCI edits.
• Query attending physicians for documentation and clarification.
• Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA.
