Job summary

ETSU Health is seeking a Coding Specialist for a hybrid role, with the ability to work 2 days from home after a 90-day introductory period. The position focuses on reviewing records, coding diagnoses and procedures, and ensuring compliant reimbursements across multiple offices.

Ideal candidates have CPC certification or at least five years of coding/auditing experience from medical record documentation, with a strong attention to detail and knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding

Responsibilities

• Reviews the medical records, determines appropriate services to be coded (ICD-10-CM, CPT, and/or HCPCS) for each billing record and applies.
• If working in the Primary Care offices, reviews documentation for diagnosis coding specificity for Hierarchical Condition Category Coding (HCC Coding).
• Organizes work for accuracy and effectiveness to ensure compliance of proper billing and coding procedures of third-party carriers and to ensure complete and accurate reimbursements.
• Reports any concerns/problems regarding billing and makes recommendations to Administrator for solutions.
• Stays current with changes in coding guidelines.
• Performs related work as required.

The Coding Specialist is responsible for performing the following duties in an efficientand effective manner. ETSU Health is a multi-specialty medical group, with codingpositions available for various specialty offices. Position is a hybrid position,being able to work 2 days a week from home, after successful completion of a 90-dayintroductory period.
