Job summary

Duke Health is seeking a seasoned leader to oversee the Coding Operation departments within the Patient Revenue Management Organization. You will support division-level operations, identify improvement opportunities, and ensure compliant coding and billing practices for hospital and professional services.

As a key leader, you will supervise audits, manage workflows, train staff, and collaborate with other managers to maintain consistent coding policies across Duke Health.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM, PCS and CPT coding principles and guidelines.
• Experience with hospital/technical and professional services reimbursement systems (DRGs, APCs, RBRVs).
• Familiarity with Federal, State and payer-specific regulations and policies for coding and billing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Quality/Focused Audits for PRMO Coding teams and ensure timely completion.
• Act as contact for organization auditing needs and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Identify areas for improvement and educate teams on accurate coding and billing.
• Provide direction for department operations, policies and performance objectives.
• Read and interpret LCD, NCD and payer guidelines related to service coverage.
• Interview, hire, train employees and manage workflows and performance.
• Collaborate with managers to ensure consistent coding policies and implementation.
• Execute additional duties as assigned by the director.
