Job summary

Code Ninjas (Tampa-Carrollwood) is seeking a Part-Time Code Sensei to mentor young ninjas across Fleming Island, World Golf, and Saint Johns locations. You will guide students through coding projects, fostering problem-solving, logic, and confidence in a fun, safe learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in mentoring, tutoring, coaching, or similar roles.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage young learners.
• Positive attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced learning environment.
• Interest in coding, gaming, or technology; ability to relate to kids.
• Ability to learn and apply curriculum quickly and adapt to different classrooms.

Responsibilities

• Guide students through coding curriculum and projects.
• Help ninjas build problem-solving, logic, and critical thinking skills.
• Provide encouragement, support, and individualized coaching.
• Ensure every student has a fun and rewarding experience.
• Create a positive, high-energy environment on the dojo floor.
• Maintain awareness of all students on the floor; assist with opening/closing duties and dojo cleanliness.
• Provide feedback to parents on student progress; support tours and demonstrate the Code Ninjas experience.
• Represent the brand positively with families and guests.
• Work closely with Lead Senseis and leadership team; participate in training and development.

Role Overview

The Code Sensei is the front-line mentor and coach, working directly with students (“ninjas”) to guide them through coding challenges while creating a fun, safe, and engaging learning environment.

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with kids, technology, and helping others grow.

Key Responsibilities

Student Engagement & Instruction

• Guide students through coding curriculum and projects
• Help ninjas build problem-solving, logic, and critical thinking skills
• Provide encouragement, support, and individualized coaching
• Ensure every student has a fun and rewarding experience

Dojo Experience

• Create a positive, high-energy, and safe environment
• Maintain awareness of all students on the floor
• Assist with opening/closing duties and dojo cleanliness
• Uphold Code Ninjas standards for safety, engagement, and professionalism

Parent Communication

• Provide feedback to parents on student progress
• Support tours and help demonstrate the Code Ninjas experience
• Represent the brand positively with families and guests

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with Lead Senseis and leadership team
• Participate in training and continuous development
• Contribute to a supportive and team-oriented culture

Qualifications

Required

• Experience working with children (mentoring, tutoring, coaching, etc.)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Positive attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Interest in coding, gaming, or technology
• Ability to learn and apply curriculum quickly

Preferred

• Basic knowledge of programming (Scratch, JavaScript, Python, etc.)
• Teaching, tutoring, or coaching experience
• Code Ninjas Black Belt or portfolio (for student applicants)

Compensation

Minimum wage – $17.50 per hour

Compensation: $15.00 - $17.50 per hour
