Job summary

Code Ninjas is seeking a part-time Code Sensei to join our center. You will oversee the day-to-day coaching and student engagement, teaching coding concepts to children aged 5 and up in a fun, safe learning environment where kids build confidence and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities include following the curriculum, preparing and teaching lessons, providing feedback to parents, and maintaining a clean dojo.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of block coding and multiple programming languages listed.
  • Understanding of game development and coding for games.
  • Familiarity with Roblox Studio development and LUA scripting.
  • Familiarity with Minecraft modding tools and game modding concepts.
  • Experience with game engines like Unity, Unreal, or Godot.
  • Familiarity with design tools such as Adobe Suite, Substance Painter, and Canva.
  • Some exposure to 3D modeling/animation tools like ZBrush, Blender, and Maya.

Responsibilities

  • Training – go through the curriculum and learn it.
  • Create a positive and safe environment in which students can grow.
  • Work with children to determine skill sets.
  • Prepare and teach lessons to our ninjas.
  • Provide feedback to parents after working with a student.
  • Follow opening/closing duties daily.
  • Clean dojo throughout the day to ensure cleanliness is kept up to corporate standards.
  • Report weekly to center owners on progress.
  • Report daily to center owners with respect to day’s activities and productivity in dojo.

Overview

Who are we? Code Ninjas is the nation’s fastest-growing kids coding franchise. In our center, kids ages 5-14 learn to code in a fun, non-intimidating way – by playing and building video games they love. Kids have a blast and can’t wait to come back. Parents are thrilled as their children gain confidence and new skills including coding, math, logic, and problem-solving, as they progress from white to black belt. Our core promise is, Kids have fun, parents see results.

What are we looking for

What are we looking for? We are looking for a part-time Code Sensei to join our team of dynamic, energetic, forward-thinking minds, working toward our common goal: providing a fun and safe learning environment for children. Our Senseis are the lifeblood of our Code Ninjas center. This individual oversees the day-to-day coaching and student engagement. Are you experienced in working with children? Do you enjoy teaching and building problem-solving skills in young engineering minds? Have you mentored youth? This could be the role for you.

Qualifications
  • Knowledge of block coding, Java, LUA, Python, C#, and C++
  • Understanding of video game development and coding for games
  • Understanding of Roblox Studio development using LUA
  • Knowledge of Minecraft modding and the tools used to modify Minecraft mobs, blocks, and biomes
  • Familiarity with game engines such as Unity, Unreal Engine, and Godot
  • Familiarity with graphic design tools like the Adobe Suite, Substance Painter, and Canva
  • Some understanding of 3D modeling and animation tools like ZBrush, Blender, and Maya
Candidates must be capable of
  • Working with children ages 5 and up (mentoring, coaching, tutoring etc.)
  • Interacting with the general public
  • Comfortable with teaching, mentoring, and child care
  • Must work well with others; collaborates
  • Knowledgeable about coding and technology; or able to quickly pick up basic concepts
  • Must be fun to work with and like working in fast-paced environments where requirements can change frequently
Extra attention will be given to candidates that
  • Know Roblox Studio development and LUA coding
  • Know Minecraft modding and how to teach it
  • Know Unreal Engine 5 and how to develop games with it
  • Know Unity 6 and how to develop games with it
  • Live in or near Palm Beach County, Florida
