Location: Remote - FL

Department: Coding

Work Type: Full Time

Shift: Shift 1/8:00:00 AM to 4:30:00 PM

Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate: $20.50 - $27.85 / hour

Summary

Reviews Epics electronic health record. Identifies and codes diagnoses and procedures from information documented in the medical records according to ICD-10-CM and CPT guidelines, including hospital UM modifications. Identifies principal diagnosis and procedure as well as pertinent secondary diagnoses and procedures. Follows sequencing and reporting procedures mandated by government and other payers for completion of coded data. ensures timely and accurate billing and reimbursement of patient accounts. Estimates surgical procedure costs and patients out-of-pocket expenses; collects deposits for surgical procedures and/or assists customers with payment arrangements and promotes positive customer relations. Posts payment types accurately; processes correspondence from insurance companies, patients and internal LMHS Departments. Assists LPB with claim denials, corrects data, and responsible for creating/maintaining various forms for department.

Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 Year of surgical coding experience required.
  • Certification: Coding certification from an accredited credentialing organization such as the AAPC or AHIMA required (i.e. CPC, CCS, etc.).
