Job summary

AON Central Services, LLC is seeking a medical coder with oncology specialization to accurately code surgical and hospital claims in EMR and Centricity. You will verify documentation, ensure compliance, and assign codes for procedures and diagnoses to support billing integrity.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in medical coding, with oncology CPT/ICD coding experience and ongoing CPT/ICD updates. Centricity EMR experience is preferred; strong communication skills are essential for cross-functional

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of five (3) years of medical coding experience preferred.
  • Two (2) years of ICD & Oncology CPT Coding in designated area of expertise/oncology is preferred.
  • Experience with working in a healthcare field and in a clinical setting or business office.
  • Education to stay current with CPT and ICD9/ ICD10 yearly updates is required.
  • AAPC Coding Certification (CPC or ROCC coding certification) strongly preferred.
  • Centricity experience preferred.
  • Experience in designated oncology EMR is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and communications skills are essential.

  • To ensure all assigned charts are coded and billed out daily.
  • Assigns medical codes for general surgery procedures for medical records and billing purposes.
  • As part of your duties, you look at medical records and information and assign codes for each procedure and diagnosis for each patient.
  • Ensure that all billable charges are entered into billing system.
  • Work with site to ensure that all required documentation is obtained for review process.
  • Escalate any trend and documentation issues to manager for discussion.

Location: Central Georgia Cancer Care

Pay Range: $19.66 - $34.59

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • As part of your duties, you look at medical records and information and assign codes for each procedure and diagnosis for each patient.
  • Ensure that all billable charges are entered into billing system.
  • Work with site to ensure that all required documentation is obtained for review process.
  • Escalate any trend and documentation issues to manager for discussion.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of five (3) years of medical coding experience preferred.
  • Two (2) years of ICD & Oncology CPT Coding in designated area of expertise/oncology is preferred.
  • Experience with working in a healthcare field and in a clinical setting or business office.
  • Excellent verbal and communications skills are essential.
  • Procedure entry with experience in operative report extraction and coding guidelines are preferred.
  • Education to stay current with all CPT and ICD9/ ICD10 yearly updates is required.
  • AAPC Coding Certification (CPC or ROCC coding certification) including in the designated area of oncology coding is strongly preferred.
  • Individuals who do not hold this certification must obtain within two (1) year of being assigned to this position.
  • Centricity experience preferred.
  • Experience in designated oncology EMR is preferred.
