Job summary

mhnetwork is seeking a Coder II to accurately code and abstract diagnoses and procedures occurring during the patient’s episode of care, ensuring timely submission for proper reimbursement.

The role requires hospital, clinic, or physician office coding experience, strong computer skills, and commitment to continuing education to maintain certification.

Qualifications

• Associates degree strongly preferred.
• One year of direct position related experience required.
• Experience coding in hospital, clinic or physician office.
• Basic computer knowledge with Windows training/experience.
• Maintenance of certification through continuing education is required.
• Must be skilled in applying coding guidelines set up by various third party payors.
• RHIT or RHIA credential from the American Health Information Management Association

Responsibilities

• Code and abstract diagnoses and procedures during patient episodes to ensure proper reimbursement.
• Maintain accurate documentation to support coding and reimbursement.
• Stay up-to-date with coding guidelines and payer requirements.

• Associates Degree strongly preferred.
• One year of direct position related experience required.

Experience required as follows:

• Coding in hospital, clinic or physician office.
• Basic computer knowledge required with evidence of Windows training and/or experience with demonstrated competency.
• Maintenance of certification through continuing education is required.
• Must be skilled in the application of coding guidelines set up by various third party payors.
• Required Certifications/Registrations

Physical Demands:

• Prolonged sitting.
• Some standing, lifting (50 lb.), carrying, stooping, reaching.
