Job summary

Apache Workforce is seeking an experienced Code Vessel Welder in Midland, TX to join our production team. The candidate will weld pressure vessels per ASME VIII and related standards, read detailed drawings, and ensure quality workmanship.

The role requires completing a 6G weld test based on our Welding Procedure Specification and working 6:00 AM–6:00 PM, Monday–Friday. Experience with GMAW/FCAW and code-required inspections is a strong plus.

Qualifications

• Proven experience welding pressure vessels and code-regulated equipment.
• Strong understanding of ASME Section VIII and applicable welding codes and standards.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, isometric drawings, and fabrication layouts.
• Ability to identify weld defects and perform necessary repairs.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding on pressure vessels and related components in accordance with ASME Section VIII, AWS, API, ANSI, and industry standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, isometric drawings, and fabrication layouts.
• Lay out, fit, and fabricate vessel components and pipe prior to welding and installation.
• Inspect welds and workpieces for defects and verify conformance to specifications using measuring tools.
• Repair weld defects and discontinuities identified during visual, UT, X-ray, or other inspections.
• Perform repairs on vessels and tanks that do not meet inspection requirements.
• Operate welding equipment, grinders, cutting equipment, and other fabrication tools safely and efficiently.
• Perform thermal cutting using oxy-fuel torches and plasma arc equipment.
