Job summary

4LEAF, Inc. seeks a Code Enforcement Officer to serve Humboldt County, NV, with at least 2+ years in nuisance-related enforcement. Must hold a Nevada driver’s license, pass a background check, and excel in customer service, written and oral communication.

Position is part-time with potential for full-time, flexible, and on-the-road work. Competitive pay and benefits accompany responsibilities including field enforcement, record-keeping, and public interaction.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in nuisance, blight, substandard housing, and unpermitted construction.
• Ability to apply code violation investigation and enforcement methods.
• Interpret and apply state and local codes, policies and regulations.
• Clear verbal and written communication to obtain inspection warrants and court documents.
• Maintain and update records, logs and reports.
• Respond to inquiries and maintain effective working relationships, including with difficult people.
• Must have a valid Nevada driver’s license and pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of codes, ordinances, laws, and regulations pertaining to code abatement.
• Safe and efficient work practices as they relate to code enforcement.
• Office procedures and basic word processing/databases.
• Record maintenance and report preparation.
• Engage with the public in a fair, tactful, timely manner.
• General municipal services and procedures including citation issuance and court documents.
