Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED required; knowledge of enforcement or regulatory codes for municipal law.
• Valid North Carolina Driver's License; pre-employment drug test.
• Ability to read maps, plats, codes, ordinances and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations of reported code violations on private and public property.
• Determine if additional violations are present at the property.
• Conduct property inspections for possible City code/or ordinance violations.
• Issue warnings, correction notices, and notices of violation.
• Prepare reports, notices of violation, and case histories for court proceedings.
• Forward notices to appropriate City departments for enforcement.
• Track progress of violations and compliance; monitor assigned area.
• Maintain records of warnings, notices, inspections and violations.
• Assist with non-licensed inspections as needed; read and interpret maps and regulations.
• Convey a professional image and comply with safety rules.
