Job summary

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in building design and construction or related leadership roles.
• Experience with code enforcement and inspections is required.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and local/state/federal requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Rental Registration and Inspection Program and ensure inspections stay on schedule.
• Supervise four neighborhood code officers and inspection staff.
• Administer and enforce building codes per Indiana state law and city ordinances.
• Manage departmental budget and prepare reports for the Mayor/Chief of Staff.
• Present information to the public at meetings and hearings.
