Job summary

Grand Casino Mille Lacs & Hinckley is seeking a dining service associate to deliver beverages and food service to guests in a courteous, professional manner. You will work to maintain a clean casino floor and support our high standards of guest experience.

Responsibilities include taking orders, serving beverages, and applying knowledge of menus with suggestive selling while adhering to cash handling policies.

• Previous bartending and/or serving experience of one year.
• Alcohol Awareness Training (Certification within 2 months required).

Summary

Responsible for providing dining service to all Guests in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner in accordance with Grand Casino’s service standards.

Essential Duties Of The Position

• Responsible for prompt, efficient and courteous service of beverages to Casino Guests in accordance with Grand Casino standards.
• Performs necessary tasks to service Guests, i.e. taking and filling all drink orders and assisting in maintaining Casino floor in a clean and neat manner.
• Responsible for adhering to established cash handling control policies and procedures of Grand Casinos.
• Responsible for knowing beverage menus and offerings and applying that knowledge with suggestive selling techniques to enhance Guest gaming experience.
• Responsible for the Guests needs on a continual basis ensuring all requests will be promptly fulfilled.
• Answer any Guest questions and directs concerns to appropriate management.
• Address any Guest challenges to resolve them quickly and courteously in accordance with department standards.
• Encourages mutual respect, dignity and integrity with all Associates, by setting positive examples at all times.
• Participates as a team member with Grand Casino Associates in producing a smoothly and efficiently run operation that meets the highest standards of Guest service.
• Assist other personnel with maintenance (side work, opening/closing duties) as necessary.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary area at all times in full accordance with established health regulations.
• Knowledge of the Dram Shop Act and Servers responsibilities and rights under it.
• Participate as a team member with Utilities, Bartenders, and Supervisors and any pertinent Grand Casino Associates to ensure efficient operational standard.
• Flexible to learn and execute in multiple food or beverage outlets.

Special Qualifications

• Must be able to secure license from Gaming Regulatory Authority.
• Responsible for following all relevant Detailed Gaming Regulations (DGR’s).
• Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

• Previous Bartending and or serving experience of one year.

Mathematical Skills

• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, percentages, common fractions, and decimals, and work with mathematical concepts such as statistical inference.

Reasoning Ability

• Must be able to apply common sense understanding to a variety of situations, to collect data, analyze facts, and determine appropriate response.

Physical Demands

• Talk and hear; ability to communicate effectively.
• See and adjust focus to include close, distance, depth, and peripheral vision.
• Stand, walk, run, sit, (up to 8 hours) balance, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, and/or crawl.
• Handle objects, tools, and controls; reach with arms and hands.
• Be able to lift and carry objects up to twenty-five (25) lbs.

Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is regularly exposed to:
• A low-to-moderate noise level (offices).
• A moderate-to-loud noise level (public areas).
