Job Title

CockroachDB Administration

Location

Plano, TX (Onsite)

Roles Responsibilities

• Design, deploy and manage distributed databases such as CockroachDB, PostgreSQL, etc.
• Administer and optimize enterprise database platforms including Oracle, Exadata, and Redis.
• Manage containerized database deployments using Kubernetes (scheduling, networking, storage, secrets).
• Implement infrastructure automation using Terraform IaC.
• Develop Python scripts for automation, integrations, and operational tasks.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for database and infrastructure deployments.
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and reliability of database systems.
• Perform database performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Handle enterprise production support, L2/L3 incident resolution, and root cause analysis.
• Implement security compliance and access control policies.
• Work closely with DevOps, application, and cloud teams.

Required Skills

• Strong experience with distributed database systems, preference for CockroachDB.
• Hands‑on experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, Exadata, and Redis.
• Good knowledge of Kubernetes concepts – containerized DB management.
• Experience in Terraform (Infrastructure as Code).
• Proficiency in Python scripting for automation.
• Experience with cloud platforms AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Strong knowledge of Linux administration.
• Experience in production support, troubleshooting, and incident management.

Good to Have

• Experience with SRE practices – observability, SLAs, reliability engineering.
• Exposure to monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
• Knowledge of data replication, sharding, and distributed architectures.

Compensation

The actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, performance, and internal equity. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum salary target for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, job level, and additional factors including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Depending on the position offered, other forms of compensation may be provided as part of overall compensation such as an annual performance‑based bonus, sales incentive pay, and other forms of bonus or variable compensation.
