Job summary

Vanderbilt Health in Nashville is seeking a highly skilled PRN cochlear implant audiologist to join our Cochlear Implant Division. This part-time clinical position serves patients of all ages with cochlear implants and related services.

You will perform intraoperative testing, candidacy evaluations, activations and mappings, plus full diagnostic assessments and patient counseling within a collaborative academic health system focused on research and education.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Audiology (AuD) from an accredited program.
• ASHA certification (CCC-A).
• Prior experience working with cochlear implant recipients.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Complete intraoperative cochlear implant testing evaluating device integrity and confirming electrode placement.
• Conduct cochlear implant candidacy evaluations, activations, and follow-up mappings for patients of all ages.
• Complete hearing aid programming for bimodal users.
• Perform full diagnostic hearing assessments using appropriate test methods and equipment for patients of all ages.
• Formulate and implement treatment plans to address patient needs.
• Complete documentation in a concise and timely manner.
• Counsel patients, families, and healthcare teams appropriately.
• Engage in clinical teaching of graduate students.
