Responsibilities

  • Calibrate controls for proper volume, pan speed, and temperatures; ensure product quality.
  • Unload and weigh/reconcile finished product to target range.
  • Maintain batch records, labels, and logs with accurate documentation.
  • Apply MES to charge and yield products; follow SAFETY and GMP rules.

Night Shift 6

The Coating Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and adjusting automatic equipment that mixes coating solutions and coats vitamin products, ensuring finished products comply with production standards and tolerances. This role requires constant quality checks. The Coating Operator reports to the Department Leader.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identifies and locates coating ingredients, transports to the mixer, mixes in accordance with specific instructions to prepare solution for a particular product; subdivides and transfers solution to coating pans.
  • Identifies and locates in-process tablets for coating; subdivides and loads tablets into the coating machine.
  • Calibrates controls on equipment to ensure proper volume, atomization, pan speed, and temperatures for each type of product; monitors the coating process operation constantly to ensure the product is coated in accordance with company standards.
  • Unloads, subdivides coated tablets; and weighs/reconciles finished product to within 97%-101% of loaded product.
  • Completes and maintains specific and accurate documentation on batch records, labels, and logs.
  • Apply a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to charge and yield products.
  • Sets up 3-piece containers.
  • Disassembles equipment, cleans; reassembles and prepares for next batch of coating; cleans other areas of room to ensure a sanitary coating operation.
  • Performs all duties in compliance with safety rules, standard operating procedures, and good manufacturing practices.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Critical Success Factors
  • Manual dexterity to manipulate controls on coating equipment.
  • Ability to read English sufficiently well to understand operating procedures.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Communicates well with supervisors and leads.
Capabilities & Skills Required
  • Requires a high school diploma / GED or 9 years equivalency of related work experience.
  • Forklift certification within six months of attaining the position.
  • Requires 3 months of manufacturing experience.
  • Prior experience as a production machine operator or utility worker is preferred.
  • A complete working knowledge of the coating operation from the preparation of coating solutions to operating coating equipment is preferred.
  • Manual dexterity to manipulate controls and adjust equipment.
  • English communication skills to maintain routine written logs and records. Communicate with supervisors and others and read batch records, operating instructions, and safety regulations.
  • Ability to stand/walk for a 12 hour shift. Perform repetitive job duties for long periods of time. Push/pull/lift/carry containers of product regularly throughout shift.
  • Safely operate a lift truck, pallet jack and forklift, in congested areas. Occasionally lifts loads up to 35 pounds.

The salary range for this position is $40,000.00 - $66,000.00.

Actual compensation will take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location, education, experience, qualifications and job-related skills. It is not typical for an individual to be hired above the midpoint of the range for their role and compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. This information is provided to applicants in accordance with state and local laws.

Base pay is only one component of our total rewards offerings, and we will take the full offering into consideration when presenting an offer of employment. Our total rewards package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, Medical, dental and vision benefits, 401K match, and other wellness benefits.

Pharmavite provides compensation for all overtime hours worked by non‑exempt (hourly) employees in accordance with state and federal law. The need to work overtime hours will be determined by management, based on customer and business necessity to meet the needs of our business. Pharmavite may require employees to work overtime.

Voluntary overtime requested by non‑exempt employees must be approved in advance by the employee’s supervisor.
