Job summary

Uponor is seeking an experienced operator to run barrier extrusion, lacquer coating lines and VLD extruders. You will ensure production quality and safety while operating barrier, LD, VLD extruders and the lacquer coating line.

You will contribute to continuous improvement and lean initiatives, mentoring others as needed. A high school diploma and manufacturing experience are required; forklift certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–5 years of manufacturing experience or mastery of production, quality, or distribution areas.
• 1–2 years teaching or on‑the‑job training experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Continued learning in manufacturing, quality, distribution and leadership principles.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office).
• Lean concepts, ISO Quality Systems, Continuous Improvement, 6-Sigma and Bronze Certification.

Responsibilities

• Operate Barrier, LD, VLD extruders and lacquer coating line.
• Maintain processing and quality standards for barrier, lacquer and VLD extrusion production.
• Provide input on performance objectives aligned with business strategy with leadership.
• Demonstrate peer leadership and effective collaboration across audiences.

Job description

This position is tasked with the operation of barrier extrusion, lacquer coating lines and VLD extruders. These lines consist of screw extruders and different types of dies. In addition, this position is responsible for maintenance, process, and quality standards associated with barrier, lacquer and VLD extrusion production.

• In conjunction with leadership, provides input on individual performance objectives that are aligned with the functional and business strategy.
• Operates Barrier, LD, VLD extruders and lacquer coating line

Qualifications

Education, Experience and Knowledge

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 to 5 years of manufacturing experience or demonstrated mastery of one or more of Uponor’s production, quality or distribution areas.
• Minimum 1 to 2 years teaching or on-the-job training experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Continued learning in manufacturing, quality, distribution and leadership principles.
• Basic computer skills required (MS Office).
• Experience and training in Lean concepts, ISO Quality Systems, Continuous Improvement, 6-Sigma and a Bronze Certification, minimum.
• Must have, or be able to acquire, Forklift Certification and Forklift Train the Trainer Certification.
