Job summary

IDEX Health & Science LLC., a unit of IDEX Corporation, is seeking a B-Shift Coatings Associate II at West Henrietta, NY. You will support coating operations for thin-film deposition on glass substrates using vacuum chambers and Semrock tech, ensuring uptime and quality.

A high school diploma and 2+ years in optical coating/manufacturing are preferred. Experience with spectrometers, HAAS mills, sputtering coaters, and glass cleaning equipment is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• More than 2 years of experience working in an optical coating or manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Experience working with a spectrometer, HAAS mill, ion sputtering coaters, magnetron sputtering coaters, cosmetic inspection and glass cleaning equipment are a plus.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other computer applications is a plus.
• Good written and verbal communications.
• Ability to collaborate with others to resolve technical issues.
• Ability to achieve proficiency in FPS, Diskmapper, Scheduler and Uniformity Manager is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Wash, inspect and prepare glass substrates for ion beam and magnetron sputtering coater deposition.
• Loading and unloading coaters.
• Measuring coated parts for uniformity using Semrock equipment and processes.
• Sandblasting and cleaning aluminum parts to reuse vacuum chamber.
• Communicate issues to Team Leader and Manager and collaborate on solutions.
• Model the IDEX values of trust, teams and excellence.
• Complete housekeeping and 5S related tasks.

Scope Of Role

The B-shift Coatings Associate II works collectively with a diverse group of individuals with various skillsets and talents to support the coating operation in the application of thin films onto glass substrates using vacuum coating chambers and other Semrock technology. A successful candidate is self-directed and is supported by a Team Leader who ensures the team is meeting or exceeding uptime and changeover goals while maintaining quality standards that produce saleable products.

Essential Duties

• Wash, inspect and prepare glass substrates for ion beam and magnetron sputtering coater deposition.
• Loading and unloading coaters.
• Measuring coated parts for uniformity management using Semrock equipment, processes and applications.
• Sandblasting and cleaning aluminum parts to remove coating film for vacuum chamber reuse.
• Communicate issues and concerns to Team Leader and Manager and collaborate on solutions.
• Model the IDEX values of trust, teams and excellence.
• Complete housekeeping and organizational tasks associated with 5S principles.

Education And Experience

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• More than 2 years of experience working in an optical coating or manufacturing environment is preferred.

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $37,500.00 - $56,300.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
