Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC) is seeking a Research Technician I–II to contribute to coastal conservation and restoration ecology projects with the Harte Research Institute. The role combines field sampling, lab processing, data management, and outreach in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include fieldwork, equipment maintenance, and supporting data collection and reporting. A high school diploma is required, with lifting up to 50 pounds; a related bachelor’s degree

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three years (Tech II) or two years (Tech I) of related field experience or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to travel and work long/nonstandard hours during fieldwork.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong organization and attention to detail.

Responsabilités

• Process field and lab samples (sorting benthic fauna, analyzing oyster tissue, filtering water, preparing sediments).
• Identify invertebrates using dichotomous keys.
• Participate in field research 1–2 days per week; may involve wading, boating and outdoor work.
• Operate University vehicles for field sampling and research activities.
• Maintain lab and field equipment; keep spaces clean and stocked.
• Coordinate outreach events and assist with educational activities.

High school diploma or GED

Bachelor’s degree in related field (preferred)
