Job summary

Beebe Medical Center in Sussex County, Delaware, seeks a compassionate Medical Oncologist and Hematologist to join our multidisciplinary oncology team. You will diagnose, treat, and manage cancer and blood disorders, delivering patient-centered care and collaborating with surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, and other specialists.

The ideal candidate will hold an MD or DO, board certification in Medical Oncology and Hematology, an active Delaware license, and completed an Internal Medicine

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Board certification or eligibility in Medical Oncology and Hematology.
• Valid medical license in the practicing state (Delaware).
• Residency in Internal Medicine with Hematology/Oncology fellowship.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication, empathy, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Valuate patients’ medical histories and perform physical examinations.
• Diagnose and treat cancers and hematologic conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies.
• Interpret diagnostic tests, including blood work, bone marrow biopsies, and imaging studies.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as necessary.
• Provide supportive care and symptom management throughout the treatment process.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and prognoses.
• Collaborate with surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, and other specialists to coordinate comprehensive care.
• Participate in clinical trials and stay current with advancements in oncology and hematology.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
