Job description

Position Details

Our providers will be located at the main Hampton VA Medical Center hospital or our North Battlefield clinic in Chesapeake, joining a team of 2 other cardiologists.

This position offers an ideal Monday through Friday work schedule (8:00 am - 4:30 pm). The call is phone-based, shared on a rotational basis. There is no on-site interventional work; no cath on call, as all patients are referred out.

Benefits and Compensation

VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package:

  1. Education Debt Reduction: Up to $200K over 5 years.
  2. Pay: Competitive salary of $330K-$400K, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases.
  3. Paid Time Off: 50-55 days per year (including 26 days annual leave, 13 sick days, 11 federal holidays, and up to 5 days for CME).
  4. Retirement: Traditional federal pension (vesting after 5 years) and federal 401K with up to 5% VA contributions.
  5. Insurance: Federal health, vision, dental, term life, and long-term care insurance options.
  6. Licensure: One full, unrestricted license from any US State or territory.
  7. CME: Up to $1,000 annual reimbursement (full-time with board certification required).
